Fire

about

The second song on “HEARTLAND” is “FIRE”, and this song is symbolic to my awakening from sleep in sin and realizing how it takes over, especially when you’re not tuned into God’s heart and navigating with your own, heading nowhere...

The song includes phrases like “Lord, I’m calling out to you to take my heart, renew”, and “You save me Father!” to focus on where my salvation comes from.

“FIRE” also touches on the nature of some elements. For example, burning fire refines or reveals wounds that can be soothed by warmed water, and how fire can spread with strong winds whenever it’s ablaze in California summers.

The number 2 is also symbolic in many ways... especially when it comes to finding balance. It’s the brakes to gas, the B #witness to the A, and the minimum number of people needed to gather in His name to have Him in our #presence.

It’s the union of two individuals where co-operation, peace, and harmony can all take place, and with the song “FIRE”, I share how I had to burn through some hard times and relationships to put one foot toward the healing journey.

As we’re trying to put out some fires in life at the moment, hope we all seek salvation from the Father.

lyrics

FIRE

A fire in the fields was ever glowing
And night was falling on this countryside.
A wind was spreading blazes to the morning
My hope was fading with the burning light.
When my raging sin is taking over.
Your grace for mercy is all I find.

You can say that I was heading nowhere.
Struggling to feel my heart’s design.
Your fire can ignite the water
To heal the wounds fire refines.

Lord I’m calling out for you…
To take my heart, renew.

Longing for an answer, my soul keeps burning.
For pain and sorrow keep me up at night.
If you can take a heart in yearning
Your truth be told as you hold mine.

Lord I’m calling out for you…
To take my heart, renew.

Renew…

(RHYTHMS)

Save me, Father… (x7)
You save me, Father (x5)
